Biofungicide Extract Equisetum arvense

• Dilution Ratio: Mix 25ml of the extract with 1 litre of lukewarm water.
• When to apply? Apply from the first visible signs of the fungal presence.
• Application: Spray evenly on foliage and stems for effective protection. Don't wahs it off, let it be absorbed.
• Frequency: Repeat the application every 7 days until the fungal spread is mitigate. Apply regularly or as needed, especially in humid conditions or during peak infection periods.
• Winter period: Fungal infections tend to appear mostly during the winter periods where rain, excess moisture, poor ventilation and low temperatures facilitates their proliferation. Apply monthly during autumn and winter. It won't harm your plant.
• Plant types: This biofungicide is suitable for any tropical and subtropical plants, fruit trees, vines and horticultural plants. Flowers that have already bloomed by wilt and dry out. New blooms may open with light brown edges. 

Fungal infections thrive under specific climatic conditions that create an ideal environment for their growth and spread. A fungal infection can happen at any point in the year depending on where you live, as long as the conditions become favourable, however, they are most likely to develop during the change of seasons, mostly autumn and winter. The most favorable conditions for fungal infections include:

• High Humidity & Moisture - Most fungal pathogens require high humidity (above 85%) or prolonged leaf wetness to germinate and infect plants.

 

• Frequent rain, overwatering, or poor drainage - can create excess moisture, promoting fungal development.

 

• Warm to Moderate Temperatures - Many fungi thrive in temperatures between 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F), although specific fungi have different temperature preferences:

  • Powdery mildew prefers warm, dry conditions (20°C to 25°C).
  • Downy mildew and Botrytis thrive in cooler, humid environments (10°C to 20°C).
  • Fusarium and Rhizoctonia develop in warmer conditions (25°C to 30°C).

 

• Poor Air Circulation - Dense foliage and poor airflow create microclimates with high humidity, allowing spores to settle and infect plant surfaces.

 

• Prolonged Leaf Wetness - Dew, fog, or extended periods of wet leaves (more than 6-12 hours) create ideal conditions for spore germination. Overhead irrigation without proper drying time can contribute to fungal outbreaks.

 

• Low Sunlight & Shaded Areas - Many fungi prefer low-light environments, as direct sunlight can dry out spores and reduce infection rates. Shaded areas in greenhouses, gardens, or crop fields are more susceptible to fungal growth.

 

• Weak or Stressed Plants - Plants suffering from nutrient deficiencies, mechanical damage, or previous infections are more vulnerable to fungal attacks. Overuse of nitrogen fertilizers can lead to soft, excessive growth, which is more susceptible to fungal infections like rust and mildew.

 

• Presence of Infected Plant Debris - Fungal spores can survive on dead leaves, stems, and soil, ready to infect new growth when conditions become favorable.
